Mabini’s 9th commandment speaks of Otherness – its beauty that is at once an invitation to friendship and a threat. It is a relationship, fraught with tension… Two Mabinis in a staring duel. One is visible, sitting in plain view, a halo around him; the other, behind a closed door fixed with a warning, “No trespassing.” Where is the line to be drawn between the love for one’s neighbor, and the love for one’s self?
